This privacy policy applies to the Gurukul app (hereby referred to as “Application”) for mobile devices that is created by Gurukul (hereby referred to as “Service Provider”) as a Free service. This service is intended for use “AS IS”.

INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE

The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include information such

1.1 Your device’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address)

1.2The pages of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages.

The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device.

PURPOSE FOR COLLECTING, USING, STORING AND PROCESSING OF INFORMATION

Gurukul collects, uses, stores and processes Your Information for any purpose as may be permissible under applicable laws (including where the applicable law provides for such collection, usage, storage or processes in accordance with the consent of the user) and shall include the following:

2.1. to facilitate Your use of the Services;

2.2. to respond to Your inquiries or fulfil Your requests for information about the various services offered on the Services;

2.3. to provide You with information about services available on the Services and to send You information, materials, including any email alerts, transactions with Us and competitions and promotions that you take part in and offers, if any.

2.4. to send You important information regarding the Services, changes in terms and conditions, user agreements, and policies and/or other administrative information;

2.5. to send You surveys, newsletters, statistics about users, traffic patterns and marketing communications;

2.6. to personalize Your experience on the Services by presenting advertisements, services and offers tailored to Your preferences;

2.7. to help You address Your problems incurred on the Services including addressing any technical problems;

2.8. if You avail of any service from the Services, to complete and fulfil the same.

2.9. to protect the integrity and for proper administering of the Services;

2.10. to conduct internal reviews and data analysis for the Services;

2.11. to conducting academic research, surveys, analytical studies on various aspects including user behaviour, user preferences etc.;

2.12. to respond to legal, judicial, quasi-judicial process and provide information to law enforcement agencies or in connection with an investigation on matters related to public safety, as permitted by law;

2.13. to implement information security practices;

2.14. to determine any security breaches, computer contaminant or computer virus;

2.15. to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities and suspected fraud,

2.16. to undertake forensics of the concerned computer resource as a part of investigation or internal audit;

2.17. to trace computer resources or any person who may have contravened, or is suspected of having or being likely to contravene, any provision of law including the Information Technology Act, 2000 that is likely to have an adverse impact on the services provided on any Services or by Gurukul; and

2.18. to enable a potential buyer or investor to evaluate the business of Gurukul.

THIRD PARTY ACCESS

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application and their service. The Service Provider may share your information with third parties in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

Please note that the Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policy about handling data. Below are the links to the Privacy Policy of the third-party service providers used by the Application:

The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

4.1 as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;

4.2 when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;

4.3with their trusted services providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.

OPT-OUT RIGHTS

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.

DATA RETENTION POLICY

The Service Provider will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. If you’d like them to delete User Provided Data that you have provided via the Application, please contact them at contact@gurukul.co and they will respond in a reasonable time.

SECURITY

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains.

CHANGES

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
